Seborrheic Keratitis

Most researchers and dermatologists emphasize the benign nature of seborrheic keratosis. It is noncancerous and does not in any way portent skin cancer though it looks dangerous. The lesions are so shallow that they only affect the top layer of the individual’s skin. Numerous studies show that seborrheic keratosis develops among people that are 40 years and above. Despite having a unique tendency to run in families, there is no clear evidence to show that seborrheic keratosis is genetic. The main reason why genetics has been dismissed is because there are families in which only one person suffers from senile lumps but the rest have very smooth and beautiful skins.

Some people have gone ahead to employ seborrheic keratosis removal procedures that are unsuitable for seb keratoses because they are not conversant with the symptoms of senile warts. Before you select any seborrheic remover, do enough research to ensure that the condition that has developed on your skin is actually seborrheic keratosis. This will enable you decide whether you should go ahead with treatment or not. It is wise to leave these bumps alone in case you do not have any problem having them on your skin. Nevertheless, if you find them itchy, ugly or uncomfortable, it will be good to remove them. You need to begin treatment of these lesions as soon as you notice signs of brown spots on the surface of your skin. Early treatment is not only cheap but will also prevent further spread or scarring after their removal.

You should never delay seborrheic keratosis treatment if that is the direction you would like to take in order to rejuvenate your once smooth and radiant skin.  You can tell that the bumps on your skin are seborrheic keratosis if they are painless or wart-like in texture. The color of the lumps could be brown, black or yellow.  Though most of these lesions are round, a number of them could also appear oval in shape with waxy surfaces. Some people may have one growth while others may have numerous skin growths. Most of them exhibit all or some of the above symptoms. You should not rely on these symptoms to make your own diagnosis at home and embark on treatment without getting the dermatologist’s expert opinion. Do not rush and apply seborrheic keratosis treatment that will leave you with regrets. The doctor may ascertain the diagnosis using a skin lesion biopsy.
