Removal Of Seborrheic Keratosis
As one ages the skin tends to lose its ability to quickly regenerate and as a result certain lesions appear on the skin. This may be due to exposure to the suns ultraviolet rays for long periods of times. These spots have different pigmentation from the normal skin and hence make the skin lose its natural beauty and become unsightly. This condition is referred to a seborrheic keratosis.
While removal of seborrheic keratosis is not very critical many people prefer to have it done to regain the beauty of their skin. Moreover dermatologists recommend removal of seborrheic keratosis as it may later develop to fully blown cancer of the skin. Removal of seborrheic keratosis can be done through various ways:
Removal of seborrheic keratosis can be done using laser treatment. A very bright beam of laser is shone on the spots causing them to break apart, these later shed off. This method is a bit expensive and is not advisable for dark skinned people as it tends to leave some scars on the skin. These are not slightly either.
Besides laser removal of seborrheic keratosis can be done through application of liquid nitrogen on the spots. The liquid nitrogen causes the cells to freeze and disintegrate. The normal skin is however unaffected and is able to repair itself after some days.
Surgical treatment is a more expensive method of removal of seborrheic keratosis but it is very effective and highly recommended by doctors. It rarely leaves any traces of the spots as long as it is done by a professional dermatologist.
There are other methods of removal of seborrheic keratosis such as application of brighteners, moisturizers and creams. These methods do not entirely get rid of the spots but rather they make them less pronounced. The chemicals in them may also cause the cells to degenerate and die allowing for the skin to regenerate itself. Shaving is another effective method of removal of seborrheic keratosis especially at their early stages when they are very few. It involves the use of a scalpel to lightly cut off the protruding portion of the lesions which is above the normal skin.
As can be seen removal of seborrheic keratosis is very easy as there are a variety of methods to choose from. Overall the effectiveness of each method varies but the end result justifies the means. You wanted the spots eliminated, they are eliminated.
